Hello again Alex!
Well, just back from Brancroft. My son (VE3LCJ) and I used the Bancroft repeater to keep in touch during our vacation (Jul 19-30). I also used it to keep in touch with the 'boys' in niagara both direct (niagara using the BAL repeater), and through IRLP. I waited a few seconds before issuing the DTMF codes, and sure enough, the IRLP worked like a dream. I hooked up my dual receive dual band transciever to a J-Pole thrown up in the trees (using cheap RG-6 COAX!), and I was able to hit the TBF repeater in Haliburton at 1/2 scale, and the Bancroft repeater at full scale. It was nice to have communications like that into the cottage. I will do it again next year.
Thanks for your help in the IRLP stuff. It worked great.
The COARC is a great system, and the fine people who put it together should be congratulated many times. I only use it 1 week out of the year, but it performed flawlessly.
Thanks again. Conrad ve3los
